FAQ

What is Jade's Pots pottery made of?

I use mid-fire stoneware, fired to cone 5 (~2160°F/1180°C). The pieces are food-safe if handled with proper care. All handmade pieces may have minor flaws (discolorations, chips, etc.).

How do I take care of the pottery?

I strongly suggest gently hand-washing your ceramics.

Please keep in mind that all items in this shop are completely handmade, and therefore some small imperfections may be present. Hopefully, you will, as I do, see any small imperfection as part of what makes a personally hand-made item unique.

What are "seconds?"

A “second” is an imperfect ceramic that isn’t good enough to be sold at regular price. Because pottery is a multifaceted art form and all pieces are completely handmade, many mistakes are bound to happen. Flaws include cracks, chips, crazing, pinholes, blemishes, glaze drips, and missing pieces.

Whether these flaws appear before or after purchase, seconds are generally not considered food-safe, dishwasher-safe, heat-safe, or microwave-safe. I strongly suggest using seconds for decorative purposes only.

Do you do custom orders or wholesale?

As of 2025, I do not do custom orders or wholesale. However, I am always open to suggestions and advice as a new ceramicist and business owner!

I need my pottery by a certain date, do you do rush orders?

I do not currently offer rush orders. However, expedited shipping options may be available according to USPS.

The pot I want is sold out! What do I do?

I’m so sorry! Unfortunately, I do not have a pre-order or waitlist system for customers. Please wait patiently and you can be notified for my next release by following me on Instagram @jades.pots and turning on post notifications.

I do not have consistently scheduled release dates but I will make announcements via Instagram 1-2 business weeks prior to restocks and new releases.
